Privacy policy
Wake up for Fajr is made by Kaazim Zia. This policy covers the mobile app, website, and web planner, and explains how information is used when you visit or plan your sleep.
Your information stays on your device
Wake up for Fajr has no account system, advertising, tracking SDKs, or developer analytics in the app code. Prayer times and bedtime suggestions are calculated on your device. We do not operate an app server that receives your prayer times, wake times, or settings.
Location
When you choose Use my location, the app asks for foreground location permission. Coordinates are saved on your device and used to calculate prayer times locally. On iPhone, the operating system’s geocoding service may process coordinates to display a place name. The web version uses OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service for this place-name lookup. You can use the London sample without granting location permission. The app does not request background location access.
Settings and widgets
Your selected location, calculation method, sleep preferences, and wake times are stored locally. On the web, preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage so they remain available when you return. On iPhone, the app shares the resulting schedule and widget preferences with its own widget extension through an App Group. This information is not used to track you. Device backups may include local settings according to your operating system and backup preferences.
Website hosting
The website and web planner are hosted by Netlify. Serving a page requires Netlify to process technical request information such as your IP address, requested URL, and browser information. Netlify may retain operational and security logs according to its service settings and policies. This is separate from the prayer and sleep settings stored in your browser. The website code does not add advertising cookies or tracking scripts.
Reminders and alarms
If you enable reminders or wake alarms, the app requests the relevant notification or alarm permission and schedules them with your operating system. These are local notifications and alarms; the app does not register you for developer-operated push notifications. You can turn reminders and alarms off in Settings and revoke permissions in your device settings.
Your choices
You can change the saved location or use the London sample, disable widgets’ next-prayer display, and turn off alarms and reminders. Clear this website’s site data in your browser to remove saved web preferences. Removing the mobile app removes its local app data; operating-system backups and restore behaviour are controlled by your device settings. There is no online account or developer-held app profile to delete.

If the app or website’s data practices change, this page will be updated with a new revision date.
